Fire the Deadbeats!
The Government is not going to stand up for the small percentage of Americans who are responsible citizens: the people who have money saved (see our negative savings rate), and people who pay taxes (the top 5% of earners)
It's up to us. Here's today's call to action:
1. If you are an EMPLOYER and you need to lay people off, find and fire those people who bought houses they couldn't afford and are behind on their payments. They, along with the banks, are the cause of this mess, and they should be the first ones to suffer. Besides, John McCain promised them all free houses in the last debate! Why should you waste your payroll on them?
2. Write letters to all the big employers in your area. Tell them to do some research before their next layoff, and get rid of people who have been financially irresponsible. If there's someone who thought he could get rich flipping condos, then he should be able to make even more money now that you can buy them for less money! Send these Donald Trump wannabees out on the street where they belong.
3. If you are an employee and there have been people who were bragging over the past few years about the "killing" they were making in Real Estate, have a meeting with your Human Resources department. Tell them that these people have been running a personal real estate business on company time. Tell your employer that to improve morale, these folks should be let go
Face it, we're going to see deadbeats reap huge rewards over the next few years. And it's sickening. They've already got massive tax breaks (no tax on forgiven mortgage debt) while hard working responsible taxpayers get screwed. If we can save one honest person's job and send one houseflipper get-rich-quicker on the streets, we will have accomplished some good.
Don't let obese people like this turn themselves into victims when they were willing co-conspirators.
